UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND HONORS COLLEGE

University Honors Program

University Honors is a living-learning program within UMD's rigorous Honors College. The course offerings provide opportunities for students to learn about unfamiliar topics, challenge what they know about familiar topics and foster connections with exceptional faculty members and students.

Citations are received for the University Honors program after completing a 1 credit introductory course first semester freshmen year and a combination of 15 credits within HONR-coded classes.

I embraced the University Honors coursework as a way to learn about topics I was drawn to. I explored decision making, world peace, higher education structures, in-depth academic writing practices and leadership through the courses I selected.

I received my Honors Citation in the Fall of 2020.

WRITING SAMPLES

An in depth analysis on the management practices production company Hello Sunshine implemented to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Backed by statistics and logical reasoning, this essay aims to persuade readers into believing and buying into my mission of creating a nut-free restaurant.

A critique on what I would adjust within a less than satisfying magazine spread alongside a critique of everything I enjoyed about another spread, reinforced by common design principles and frameworks.
